Mat Latos v. Yovani Gallardo

Like Christmas morning.

Mat Latos makes his 2014 debut today, his first start for the Reds since September 25th of last year. If you want to know what that means to the Reds, make sure and read Wick's excellent piece on it, but needless to say, it's a pretty big deal.

He'll face off against Yovani Gallardo, who went 7 shutout innings in his last start. The Reds beat him earlier this year, though, so there's reason for optimism.

I think this feels like the first game where we'll see the real 2014 Cincinnati Reds. No major players on the DL, but also no excuses anymore. This is the time when the Reds need to come out and play like they're capable of playing, and tonight is the first step there.

Go Reds! They're my favorite team!
