Another really uninspired performance last night, but it'll be overshadowed by the big news of the day. Joey Votto is back where he belongs, batting 3rd for the Cincinnati Reds.
They'll need him, as they aim to avoid the sweep against the Dodgers. Josh Beckett takes the hill for them, who's had his fair share of trouble against Cincinnati. His 7.07 ERA against the Reds is his second worst total against any team. He's having a great season so far, though, and most of that damage came when he was a Marlin, so the Reds can't get too comfortable.
Mike Leake will go for the good guys, coming off of a rough outing against the Giants in his last start. His career numbers against the Dodgers aren't great either, with a 4.80 ERA in 4 starts.
With Joey in the lineup, there's a whole new dimension, and the big stories of this game will be how he reacts to his first game in a while. The pressure will be on, for sure.
Go Reds! They're my favorite team!
