Louisville held off a late inning rally, beating Scranton 6-5. Chien Ming-Wang had a perfectly cromulent start, tossing 6.2 innings of 3-run ball, with a strikeout and a walk. Chad Rogers gave up a pair of runs in the 9th, but still got the save, because well, saves are kind of dumb. Felix Perez had a nice night at the dish, driving in 2 on a 2-2 night with a dinger and a pair of walks. Chris Nelson went 2-4 with a pair of doubles. Up Next: Mat Latos makes his second, and hopefully last, rehab start at 7:15 PM ET.
Pensacola got rained out. Mikey O'Brien (2-2, 4.58 ERA) gets the start in game one of a double header at 4:30 PM ET before Michael Lorenzen (2-3, 1.99 ERA) takes the hill in the nightcap.
Bakersfield shut out the Visalia Butt Onions, winning 5-0. Wandy Peralta was slicing up eyeballs, throwing 7 scoreless innings, allowing just 2 hits and a walk while striking out 6 batters. Jesse Winker honked a wanger on a 1-5 night, and Kyle Waldrop went 2-4 with a double. Up Next: The Blaze head to the High Desert, with Daniel Wright making his first start for Bakersfield at 10:05 PM ET.
Dayton lost to West Michigan 4-2. Ismael Guillon had a pretty decent start, giving up a pair of runs in 7 innings, striking out 7 and walking 2. The offense managed only 2 runs on the night, both courtesy of a Joe Hudson dinger. Phil Ervin went 1-3 with a double, raising his batting average on the season to .213. His line over the last 10 days is a somewhat respectable .268/.311/.415. Up Next: Amir Garrett (0-4, 5.74 ERA) faces off against West Michigan at 7:00 PM ET.
