Alfredo Simon v. Zack Greinke

COMPLETE COVERAGE >

After seeing what happened last night, you'd think that today's pitching matchup would be an improvement. You'd be wrong. The Reds' road doesn't get much easier, as they take on Zack Greinke tonight. Greinke has been one of the best pitchers in the NL so far this year, but struggled in his last outing against the Mets, only making through 5 innings of work. He has a 2.62 ERA against the Reds in 8 career starts, which is more than I would have probably guessed given the time he spent in the AL.

The Reds will counter with Alfredo Simon. He's been good in his last two starts, both coming on the road. His most recent was in Washington, where he gave up one run in 7 innings. Simon has made one appearance at Dodger Stadium in his career, where he gave up a run in 1 2/3 innings of relief.

Really interesting lineup for the good guys tonight, with Devin Mesoraco batting third and more importantly, Donald Lutz getting his first start since his callup. BP has the night off, with Skipper getting some time at 2B for the first time this year.

Should be a fun one. Stay up with us! Go Reds!
