Louisville had the night off, so I guess I was wrong in the last FO. I bet it is so Josh Smith has more time to bone up on his scouting reports. Actually, I bet he is bonging beers with Corky. I would be. Josh Smith will start tonight at 7:05 pm EST.
Pensacola was two hit shut out by the Jackson Generals by a score of 5-0. Daniel Corcino was not Wahoo. He gave up 5 ER in 6 innings. He walked 2 and struck out 4. He also gave up 2 home runs. Shane Dyer pitched a scorless 8th and lowered his season ERA to 0.84. Since the offense only had two hits, I'm not going to waste my time talking about them. Bobertson Stephenson will start the game tonight. First pitch is 7:05 pm CST.
Bakersfield tried to be winners, but they ended up losers to Stockton 5-4. When I laid my precious head down to sleep last night, the Blaze were losing 4-0 in the top of the 6th. They decided to come back in the 6th, 7th, and 8th, while I was snoozin' and lost it in the top of the 9th. At least this team is never out of it. Drew Cisco got the start, and was better. He isn't really fooling anyone, though. He went 7 innings giving up 3 ER, 7 hits, 1 walk, and 3 strikeouts. Jimmy Moran! needs a brain, as he gave up the winning run in the ninth. His ERA is still below 1, though. Ryan Wright hit a two run Wicklebomb in the 7th, which was his 3rd of the year. Kyle Waldorf was 3 for 5 with a run scored and 2 doubles, and Seth Mejias-Brean continued to do his thang. He went 2 for 5, and his average is slowly creeping north to .300. His OBP is probably .600. Bakersfield plays tonight at 7:00 pm PST with someone on the mound.
Dayton didn't fare well when they picked up their rain shortened game last night. They ended up losing 7-5. The only thing of note is that back up catcher Brandon Dailey had a pinch hit home run when he took over for Joe Hudson.
Dayton did even worse in their second game. They lost 3-1. I'd like to believe if they played a full 9 they would have won in dramatic fashion, but alas, it was not to be. Phil Ervin had a sacrifice fly. Sebastian Elizarde left the game with an injury, and Jamodrick McGruder took over for him in LF. Nick Travieso had a swell game. He pitched 7 innings giving up 3 runs, 2 earned, with 1 walk, and 5 strikeouts. He only gave up 4 hits. Technically, he got the complete game. His ERA is a purty 1.55. April 30th was hot garbage. But... but... something is about to happen. SOME! THING! WAHOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! SOME GUY NAMED AROLDIS CHAPMAN STARTS TONIGHT AT 7 PM. GET OFF YOUR ASSES, GO TO DAYTON, AND CLAP REALLY HARD FOR CHAPPY. BOOM BOOM CHAPP!!! BOOM BOOM CHAPP!!!
