As I said on twitter this morning, it's only April 9th. Any conclusions you're making about the season right now are completely bogus. Reds are 3.5 games back in their division, and they have 154 games to make up that deficit. All is not lost.
That said, it'd be great to salvage a game from this series. The Reds have had two close losses so far in the series, but face a pitcher coming off of a rough first outing in Shelby Miller. Miller gave up 5 runs his last time out and didn't make it out of the 6th inning. His spring wasn't great either, so hopefully that form will carry over for one more game.
Mike Leake gets the ball for Cincinnati. He threw 6 2/3 innings in his first start, and gave up 4 runs in a tough loss to the Mets on Friday. Hopefully the offense will have his back this time around.
Go Reds! They're my favorite team!
