  • Louisville's game was banged due to rain, and not so the town could rub tonight's other sport-happenings in their intra-state rivals face, contrary to popular belief. No makeup date has been announced, but they'll send Mongo to the mount tomorrow to face the Clippers. It'll be David Holmberg's first start in AAA, so that'll be fun!
  • Pensacola continued their hot start to the year, snuffing the Smokies 3-2. Michael Lorenzen got his 2014 off to a killer start, tossing 7 innings of 4-hit, 0-run, 0-walk, 6 K ball. It doesn't get much better than that. Oh wait, yes it does, because he also doubled and scored a run. Jiggity jam! That Pensacola rotation has potential to be something fierce, with Stephenson, Lorenzen, Corcino, and Jon Moscot occupying the top 4 spots. Donald Lutz knocked his furst wurst of the year as well, and Moose Mattair was 2-3 with a walk and an RBI. Cool beans. Up next: OFF DAY
  • Bakersfield lost their first game of the year in spectacular fashion, getting 2-hit by Stockton in a 4-1 loss. The Blaze gave up almost as many homers (3) as times they reached base (4) on the night. The hits were a double by Marquez Smith and a single by Chris "Jacqueline" Berset, while Juan Silva and Jesse Winker each took a base on balls. Lefty starter Wandy Peralta wasn't amazing, allowing 2 runs on 6 hits and 2 walks in his 4 innings of work. I suppose the winning streak had to end somewhere. Up next: Somebody will take the hill against the Ports at 10:15 eastern.
  • Dayton had the night off. They'll face off against the Peoria Chiefs today at 7:30, with "The Island of" Junior Morillo getting the start.
