According to the Enquirer's C. Trent Rosecrans, the Cincinnati Reds officially placed the had-been red-hot Devin Mesoraco on the 15 day DL today thanks to a hamstring issue that forced him out of last night's game against the Atlanta Braves. As expected, Tucker Barnhart has been called up from AAA Louisville, where he'd been hitting .250/.327/.455 in 44 AB so far this season.

There's been no official word on the severity of the groin pull that sent Todd Frazier to an early shower yesterday, too, though he's not in tonight's starting lineup. Neftali Soto will start his first major league game tonight in his place.
And, for good measure, some of the top minor leaguers in the Reds system decided that they wanted in on the injury action, as well:

Fun news all around, it seems.
