Louisville had a good offensive night beating Indianapolis by a score of 7-3. Sean Marshall got the start going 1 inning, giving up an earned run on a solo home run. Nick Schmidt entered the game and some Schmidt happened as he struck out the side. Tim Crabbe of the Crabbe People pitched 4.1 innings giving up 2 earned runs with 2 walks and a strike out. He would get the win. He pitch like Crabbe, talk like people. The offense was better. Jason Bourgeois blooped a solo blast over the wall and had a 2 for 4 night. Some guy named Hernan Iribarren went 2 for 4 with a double and 2 RBI's. The player of the game was Ryan LaMarre. He finally got his batting average into Zach Cozart territory going 2-4 with what I hope was a grand slam. Louisville will play Indianapolis again tomorrow, with Wang trying to shoot some blanks.
Pensacola didn't get the Biscuit last night losing 5-0. Bad News Bob Stephenson was on the mound, and delivered some bad news. He ran over your roses with his delivery bike. He's sorry. Bobby ended up lasting 4.1 innings, giving up 5 runs, 4 earned, with 7 walks, and 3 strikeouts. Ouch. Put some ice on it Bobooola, go get ‘em next time. Jamie Walczak continued his good season, pitching an inning with 2 K's. Lutz hit a double, and Navarro walked twice. The offense blew chunks. Pensacola will try to get a bite of that Biscuit again tomorrow with Moscot Love leading the charge.
Bakersfield won by a score of 8-3 against Stockton because of he big right arm of Ben Lively and some big hits at the end of the game. Pretty pretty starting pitching. Woah, Ben Lively, you struck out 10 with no walks, and only two hits allowed in 6 innings? You didn't even give up a run. That's, like, really good. The bullpen wasn't as good, giving up 3 runs in the last two innings. Fortunately, Bakersfield has a pretty damn good offense. Jesse Winkerstein was 2 for 5 with a 2 run brohug. Ryan Wright was 2 for 4 with 2 RBI's and a walk. Juan Silva continues to be my fav, going 2 for 4 with a double, 2 RBI's, and a walk. The Blaze play San Jose tomorrow with TBD doing his thing.
Dayton won in extra innings against the Clinton Lumberkings 3-2. Ismael Guillon was adequate. He went 5.1 innings, giving up 1 earned run, walking 3, and striking out 3. The periphs weren't great, but he wasn't giving up hits and kept Dayton in the game. Layne Somsen collected the win in 1.1 innings pitched with 2 K's. The offense was ho-hum. Phil Ervin hit a single and walked. Jeff Gelalich had a 2 RBI single with a walk. Carlton Daal went 2 for 3 with a run scored and a walk. Sebastian Elizalde had a bad night with 3 K's, but he had the winning RBI. The most ridiculous part is he was playing in CF. When was the last time you saw a guy play 1B and then CF? I know he spends some time in LF and RF, but damn. Dayton will play Kane County tomorrow with Mr. Lankey Amir Garret on the mound.
