Farmers Only: Dayton Kills It In The Rain

SPLISH... SPLASH!!!

Joe Robbins

Louisville lost to Toledo in six innings when their game was banged at 6-2. They were originally down 6-1 until the bottom of the sixth because of defensive letdowns. Jeff Francis got the start going 4 innings giving up 6 runs, 2 earned, with 2 walks, and 5 strikeouts. Bourgeois had a huge error in the 4th that broke the game open. Max Ramirez was 3 for 2 with a run scored. Tucker Barnhart had a 2-run triple in the bottom of the 6th and had a walk. Josh Smith with be on the hill for the Bats at 6:35 EST.

Pensacola lost, as well, in the bottom of the 6th because the baseball gods wanted to be weird last night. The final score was 3-1 against the Montgomery Biscuits. Carlos Contreras took the start, and wasn't good but wasn't awful. He still had some trouble finding the plate. In 5 innings, he gave up 3 earned runs, on 4 hits, 3 walks, and 5 strikeouts. At least, he is still getting those punch-outs. What else happened? Lutzy had an RBI triple? Yorman took a walk? I am Ron Burgandy? The Wahoos and Biscuits play again today at 6:35 CST. I don't know who starts. They have the same guys from last night for their probables. It will be somebody else.

Bakersfield lost again, and I feel like that is 3 in a row. I'm not sure. They lost to Stockton 7-5. Drew Cisco was bad. He lasted 4 innings, giving up 7 earned runs. He gave up 9 hits and only struck out 2. Ew. Ben Klimesh (2 IP, 2 K), Tony Amezcua (1 IP, 1 K), and Sean Lucas (2 IP, 2 K) all came in and had scoreless appearances. Juan Silva was 2 for 4 from the leadoff spot with an RBI. Jesse Winker was 2 for 5 with an RBI and a strikeout. Juan Perez hit a 2 run Bakersfield Steamer. Bakersfield faces Stockton again at 7:00 PST with Dennhardt on the mound.

Dayton played almost an entire game, except the 9th, and beat up on Clinton 13-5. Dayton scored 11 runs in the first two innings. Beau "Fucked Them Like An" Amaral lead off the game and went 3 for 5 with a 2 triples, a double and 2 RBI's. He likes playing in the rain. Phillip Ervin decided to play some ball with a 2 for 5 night and a RBI. Actually, all the Dragon's hitters had multi-hit nights except for Carlton Daal, who had an RBI, and 2B Jamodrick McGruder. He held Charlie Scrabbles hand and they walked to first base 3 times! Joe Hudson had 4 RBI's. The pitching was pretty, and no one gave up an earned run. The defense got sloppy towards the end with the rain. Daniel Wright pitched 4 innings with 3 K's. Zack Weiss pitched 3 innings with 2 BB's and 3 K's. Dayton plays Clinton tonight at 7:00 EST with Sal Ramano on the mound.
