Jeff Francis v. Tommy Milone

The Cincinnati Reds play the Oakland A's today in a game that means absolutely nothing.  No good thing Neftali Soto does this afternoon will really have any bearing on whether he's one of the last guys to make the 25-man roster, nor will an 0 for 4 day do much to diminish what Roger Bernadina has done to prove he deserves a spot in the big leagues.

At this point, the only scenarios that would see their stock diminish in the eyes of Walt Jocketty and Bryan Price involve filling the Gatorade bucket full of Skyline Chili, seeing how far they can hit elderly fans off a tee, night putting with the daughter of the dean, or injuries.  Losing a ball in the sun or hitting an RBI grounder up the middle won't give them an inside track as much as simply being healthy enough to carry their own bag to the locker room after the 9th, so that's what we should all be hoping for.

As a side note, Johnny Cueto will be pitching in a minor league game in Goodyear today, and he's expected to go 6 innings.

We've just got a few days left of this before the fun begins, so hold your breath...but don't be alarmed when you wake up lightheaded covered in Sharpie with DocRam playing video games on your couch.

Go Reds!  They're Peteyhendrix's favorite team!
