Two Errors, Zero Problems. Reds beat Rangers 2-1

Billy 4 Pitcher

The Joe Nuxhall Memorial Honorary Star of the Game

Chris Nelson went 1-3 and got the only Reds RBIs of the game when he drove in Cozart and Mesoraco in the second. He may not get many of these, so he gets the JNMHSotG

Cueto went 5IP with 5H, 1ER, 0BB, 5K so he gets a runner up. Billy went 1-3 with a walk, a SB, and a nabbing of Elvis Andrus at 3b; all of which are pretty awesome. Cheering for Votto going 1-3 with a double is like cheering for the sun to rise in that it's a) expected and b) the backbone of all religious thought.

Key Plays

Spring Training is great sometimes for the lack of info offered. Take Nelson's single, for example: "Chris Nelson singles on a line drive to left fielder Michael Choice. Zack Cozart scores. Devin Mesoraco scores. Chris Nelson out at 1st on the throw, left fielder Michael Choice to third baseman Adam Rosales to first baseman Prince Fielder."

It sounds like he was caught in a rundown by an alert Adam Rosales, but still. Step on first, dude!

That was the second inning. In the fourth, Michael Choice chose to hit a double, bringing in Alex Rios to make the score 2-1. That's how it would end.

The Reds managed around errors by Nelson and Cozart. Considering how blundery Nelson was elsewise, I'm thinking of taking away his JNMHSotG. What's the warranty on those thigns?

Very important and all-around awesome Graf
