The Cincinnati Reds and Detroit Tigers may well be closing in on a trade (finally), one that would send one of Cincinnati's starters to the team that just traded away Rick Porcello to Boston for Yoenis Cespedes.
FOX's Jon Morosi had this to say this morning:
One source says #Tigers will obtain a starting pitcher from #Reds.

The Enquirer's C. Trent Rosecrans has apparently been hearing the same thing:
there are legs to @jonmorosi report that #Reds are working on a trade of pitcher to #tigers

The Tigers didn't really seem to be on the radar for a team that would be in the market for starting pitching, since all of two months ago their rotation boasted the AL's last three Cy Young Award winners (Justin Verlander, David Price, Max Scherzer), and Anibal Sanchez may well have been the best pitcher on their staff at times. Now, Scherzer's seeking a $200 million contract and Rick Porcello has been traded, so there's more of a need there than we may have thought.
Stay tuned.
UPDATE:
It appears that Walt's jitterbug took four days to charge, but now he's making calls to Miami Marlins in addition to the Tigers, per Morosi, and Mat Latos may be on the move.

That doesn't discount the Tigers, though, as they might be getting an arm from the Reds as well.
