Reds at Astros, Game 2: Preview/Prediction Thread

Current Series

Reds lead the series 1-0

Mon 09/16 WP: Johnny Cueto (5 - 2)
LP: Erik Bedard (4 - 11)
6 - 1 win
Wed 09/18 8:10 PM EDT

Last night was certainly a welcome sight, right? A slightly tweaked pitching motion for Cueto, but the same results we're used to seeing for the most part. Not only that, but the Pirates and Cardinals lost as well, leaving the Reds only 2.5 back going into tonight.

Ideally, we'd have the same results tonight. The Reds will employ the services of Mike Leake. They'll face Jordan Lyles, who the Reds are pretty familiar with, having faced him 4 times in the past few years. He has a 3.60 ERA against the Reds in 20 innings, which is the second lowest ERA against any team that he's pitched that many innings against.

The bullpen pitched 4 innings last night, but will pretty much have two extra arms out there in the newly activated Marshall and Cingrani, who's likely headed back there since Cueto's back.

Go Reds!
