Are we going to go wire-to-wire? Couldn't have asked for a better start to the series last night, and it doesn't suck having Homer Bailey out there for the second game. Homer made it into the 9th his last time out in SD, and will be looking to avenge the loss the A's hung on him in June when they faced off.
The A's will have Bartolo Colon on the mound, who not only pitched for the Montreal Expos, did so in his 6th season in the big leagues. Colon will be tough competition, coming off of 15 straight quality starts (yes, seriously). He has also never lost against the Reds, winning all 3 of his starts, and has more starts in Cinergy Field than he does at GABP. As someone who doesn't get to see the A's that often, it'll be interesting to see what the fuss is about, because the numbers look great.
Thanks to Mat, the bullpen looks rested. Here we go.
Go Reds! They're my favorite team!
