I sure hope so.

-MBP

Louisville got blanked 5-0 by the Syracuse Chiefs. The Bats had more Judy than punch in this one, scratching out 8 hits, all of them singles. Billy the Quick went 2-5, and is looking more and more like the Billy Hamilton we saw last year, sporting a .316 /.371/.439 line with 14 steals in the 14 games since the AAA All Star break. Ryan Dennick struggled in this one, allowing 4 runs in 4 innings, striking out 2 and walking 1. Up Next: Chad Reineke (8-9, 3.64 ERA) faces the Chiefs at 7:05.

Pensacola found themselves on the right side of a shutout, beating the BayBears 2-0. Carlos Contreras made his 3rd start for the Wahoos, allowing only 1 hit in 6 innings, striking out 1 and walking 2. Devin "the Dude" Lohman went 3-5 with a double, Yorman was 1-2 with 2 (!) walks, and Moose Mattair honked an 8th inning solo Bullwinkle. Up Next: Jon Moscott (0-0, 0.00 ERA) makes his AA debut, as the Wahoos head to Birmingham at 8:05.

Bakersfield had the day off. Fabian Williamson (0-0, 0.00 ERA) makes his debut in the Reds organization at 10:30, after being purchased from the Indy League Laredo Lemurs.

Dayton lost a 4-1 snoozer to Bowling Green. Phil Ervin went 0-2, but managed 2 walks, and Uncle Jesse ripped 2 singles on a 2-4 night. Drew Cisco got the hook after 5 innings, allowing 4 runs on 6 hits and 2 walks, while striking out 4. Werleen Taveras came on in the 6th, his first appearance after being called up from Billings, and recorded all 3 outs via the strikeout. Up Next: Sal Romano (6-8, 5.02 ERA) fires up his engine against the Hot Rods at 8:05.

Billings got rained out. They'll play a double header tonight in Great Falls starting at 8. Jose Guzman (2-4, 8.77 ERA) will get the ball in game one, with Ben Lively (0-1, 0.00 ERA) making the game two start.

The AZL Reds squeaked one out against the Lil' Dodgers, winning 5-4. It's basically the Cory Thompson show in the desert these days, as the two-way player, who's been used exclusively at shortstop to this point, is slashing .320/.391/.410 in 31 games. The 5th round pick out of Mauldin High School went 3-5 with a double. Up Next: The Reds host the Baby Dads at 10.
