This road trip is swiftly reaching the point of desperation. The Reds could really use a win tonight, period. After a promising start against LA, they dropped the final 3 against the Dodgers, and enter this series 4-4 on the pivotal road trip. I think if you would have told me the Reds would be 4-4 going into this series before the road trip started, I'd have accepted it, but the way it unfolded makes you think the Reds should have gotten more out of this. Especially now that not only are we still 3rd in the division, but we're now languishing 3.5 games back from Pittsburgh in the Wild Card.

The Reds have Mike Leake going tonight, who's coming off of his 3rd straight win. They'll need every ounce of that Leake mojo tonight to steal one from SD.

The Padres counter with Sean O'Sullivan, who has never faced the Reds despite apparently having been in the league since 2009. Ok then.

Go Reds.
