Bakersfield tried like hell to mount a 9th inning comeback, but ultimately fell short, and lost 7-5. Shane Dyer struck out 7 in 6.2 innings, but fell victim to the gopher ball, giving up 3 dingers, 11 hits and 5 earned runs. Ben Klimesh came on in relief, but was more like Kli-meh, allowing 2 runs on 3 hits in 1.1 innings. Juan Duran was hungry like the wolf, going 2-4 with a honk job in the 9th inning that brought the Blaze within 2. Up Next: Off day!

Dayton beat the River Bandits 5-1, thanks to a 5-run 8th inning. Seth Mejias-Brean banged out a run scoring triple in the aforementioned 8th to cap off a 3-5 day. Uncle Jesse (1-4) and Tanner Rahier (1-3) followed the Brean Dip's triple with a pair of singles and Daniel Pigott (1-4) hit a ground rule double. Drew Cisco only struck out 2 in 6 innings, but didn't allow any walks and gave up 4 hits and a run. Up Next: Off day!

Billings squeaked out an 8-7 victory in Orem. Nick Benedetto went 3-4, stoo gatz'd a doppio, and drove in a pair of runs. Prego! Gabriel "Surfer" Rosa honked a wanger on a 2-4 night out of the lead off spot. Starter Jose Guzman only lasted 1.1 innings giving up 6 earned runs on 7 hits, walking 2 and striking out 1. The bullpen was able to hold the Owlz to just 1 run over the next 7.2 innings, to preserve the win. Up Next: Off day!

The AZL Reds wanted to make sure I didn't get that much sleep, and lost 5-4 in 11 innings. Jose Fernandez went 2-4 with 2 doubles and Oviel Florentino drove in 2 runs on a 2-4 night. The Lil' Reds used 8 pitchers to cover the 11 innings, Evan Mitchell blew the save, and Jesus Parra got tagged with the loss. Up Next: Off day!
