Cool series, guys. This wraps up a super short series against Oaklandia. We got a dose of Badroyo last night and the offense left too many guys on base, but for all intents and purposes, this is one of those must-win games. If the Reds are going into the off day tomorrow following a loss and 1-4 on the road trip so far, confidence may not be as high for Texas on Friday.
The Reds will have Homer Bailey on the mound, who actually had a great start his only time pitching in Oakland. He threw 7 innings and only gave up 1 run in his 3rd career start, all the way back in 2007. He only gave up 2 runs in his last start out against the Pirates.
He'll be opposed by second year starter A.J. Griffin, who has a 3.90 ERA so far this year. He only got through 5 1/3 in his last start against Texas, and it's worth mentioning that the A's have lost his last 5 starts.
The bullpen still isn't too taxed, so let's take this one tonight. Go Reds.
