Louisville got blanked 3-0 by the Charlotte Knights. The offense was, unsurprisingly, rather sucky, only managing 3 hits on the night. Mike Hessman and Kris Negron had the only extra base hits for the Bats, each going 1-3 with a double. Billy Hamilton went 1-4 with a strikeout, and was caught stealing for the 9th time this season. Armando Galarraga's start was slightly less than quality, throwing 5 innings of 8-hit, 3-run ball, walking one and striking out none. Up Next: Greg Reynolds (9-0, 2.23 ERA) faces former Red Zach Stewart and the Knights at 11:45 AM ET.
Pensacola beat up on the Jr. Barves again, winning 7-3. Yorman Rodriguez continued his assault on the Southern League, going 2-4 with a run scored last night. In his first 7 games in AA, Our Man is sporting a slash line of .367/.406/.500, it's a small sample size for sure, but encouraging nonetheless. Travis "Moose Drool" Mattair kept up his hot streak, honking a 2-run wanger on a 2-4 night. Tim Crabbe lasted 5 innings, allowing 3 runs (2 earned), with 4 hits, a walk and 3 strikeouts. Up Next: Ryan Dennick (3-8, 3.23 ERA) takes the hill as the Wahoos host the Mississippi Braves at 8 PM ET.
Bakersfield got thumped by Lancaster, losing 11-2. Shane Dyer, gave up 4 runs in 6 innings, striking out 6 and walking 2. He was followed by Jimmy "Get an Out" Moran, who surrendered 3 in 2 innings with 2 BB and 1 K. Juan "Sound of" Silverio, try as he might, went 2-4 with a double and a dinger. Up Next: Jon Moscot (1-10, 5.13 ERA) looks to summon TWTW against the JetHawks at 10:45 PM ET.
Dayton whooped up on the Lansing Lugnuts 8-1 Tuesday night. Seth Mejias-Brean struck out thrice, but drove in 3 runs on a 2-5 night. Jesse Winker busted out of his slump, going 3-4 with a double and a stolen base. Starter Nick Travieso got his second win of the season, allowing 1 run over 5 innings, striking out 2 and walking 3. Up Next: 2012 18th round draft pick Jackson Stephens (0-1, 6.75 ERA) takes the hill against the West Michigan Whitecaps at 7 PM ET.
Billings got rained out, with no makeup announced as of yet. Amir Garrett (1-0, 0.00 ERA) is scheduled to make his second start of the year tonight at 9:05 PM ET.
The AZL Reds got doubled up by the Dodgers 8-4. 2013 5th round pick, Cory Thompson, went 3-5 with a double and an RBI. Congratulations Cory, this means you're now the second best SS prospect in the system! A bunch of other people much younger than me that I've never heard of did things. Up Next: The Baby Reds take on the Baby Dodgers at 9 PM ET. Starters TBA .
