Continuing our weekly radio gig with Louisville's 1450 The Sports Buzz, I took to the airwaves this afternoon to discuss the current state of our favorite baseballing club.
The Reds were wrapping up their rubber match against the Braves as I went on the air, and shortly after we finished discussing Jay Bruce's power outage, he honked a wanger to center field, successfully completing the reverse-jinx. We also discussed Zack Cozart's struggles to start the year, and if his recent performance is a sign of things to come. It would certainly be nice for the Reds if that was the case, because if we learned anything last season, it was that Dusty will stick with Cozart at the top of the order despite poor production.
Host Trevor Kesey and I also discussed whether this could be the last year of Bronson's tenure in Cincinnati. The way that Tony Cingrani has pitched this so far this season has made the possibility of a Bronson-less rotation in 2014 a little more palatable, and as much as I have enjoyed watching Goodroyo over the last 8 years, I think the risk associated with re-signing Arroyo is too much for the Reds.
There's other stuff too, so just click here and give it a listen. I come in around the 17-minute mark.
Be sure to tune in every Wednesday afternoon around 3 pm ET at 1450theSportsBuzz.com.
