Here's a little mid-weekend minor league recap. And an open thread, so talk about whatever!
- Louisville won 4-1 against Buffalo on Thursday, thanks to a strong outing by Yohan Pino. Armando Galarraga only went 2/3 of an inning, giving up a run facing 3 batters, so Pino came in and cleaned up the mess. He stayed in for 6 1/3, only giving up 4 hits along the way. Josh Fellhauer had 3 hits to help the offense out. Friday was a little tougher, as they lost 4-3 in 11 innings. Greg Reynolds had another good start, giving up 2 runs in 6 innings. Mike Hessman homered (his 6th) and Billy Hamilton stole another base (his 17th). Billy's only hitting .194 so far this year... time to panic?
- Pensacola lost 6-1 on Thursday. Ryan "Some Guy" Dennick got the start and gave up 5 runs in 5 innings, and our buddy Devin Lohman had two hits. Good for him. They lost 3-2 on Friday, despite a 3-for-4 day from Ryan LaMarre and a great outing by Daniel Renken, who went 6 innings and gave up only 1 earned run.
- Bakersfield lost 4-2 on Thursday, despite their 6-9 hitters having 2 hits each, and Jon Moscot only giving up 2 earned runs (other two were unearned). Kyle Waldrop and Marquez Smith homered on Saturday, but they still lost 7-4 as James Allen gave up a bunch of unearned runs. What's with the defense, Blazers?
- Dayton lost 10-5 on Thursday at beautiful Ashford University Field in Clinton. Nick O'Shea homered, but Ismael Guillon got lit up, giving up 8 runs (6 earned) in 3 innings of work. They were rained out Friday.
What else is on tap for tonight, gang?
