Homer Bailey takes the hill this afternoon after throwing six-strong against Washington in his season debut. He only gave up two hits and three walks in that incredible 15-0 philabustering, so here's hoping Ol' Hoss can keep ridin' high in the saddle.
Somehow, Jake Westbrook is still pitching baseballs. He gave up an unearned run in his season debut against the Giants, taking the loss in a 1-0 squeecher. He is not the same as Homer Bailey. He has pitched moderately well against the Reds in the past though, posting a 3.90 ERA in nine starts and 55 innings.
A few changes to the lineup today, as Devin Mesoraco gets the start behind the plate and Cesar Izturis at shortstop. Both Ryan Hanigan and Zack Cozart seem to be struggling a bit out of the gate, so a day game after a night game seems like a good time to park it. And hey! The catcher is not hitting eighth!

The bullpen should be mostly good for this afternoon, as Manny Parra was the only one to do work in yesterday's loss. Apparently Sean Marshall still ain't right though, so whatever is going on there. I have no idea what it is, but I'm pretty confident in saying that whatever it is, the Reds are handling it all wrong. Also, J.J. Hoover deserves another day off.
