We can all breathe a little easier this afternoon, as two big firsts occurred in the game yesterday. Votto honked his first wanger since the knee surgery, and the Reds got their first win of the spring. Votto has looked very Vottonian thus far, which is certainly something to celebrate.
Homer Bailey will make the first appearance from a starting pitcher this spring. No word that I could find on who else is scheduled to pitch today.
Both Frazier and Bruce have been shut down for precautionary reasons. Bruce is dealing with a sore heel, while Frazier has a strained calf. Neither injury is considered serious, but there is really no need to take unnecessary risks in February.
