Reds' pitching takes a 9 inning streak of hit-less baseball into tonight's game.

Last night was a lot of fun, not the least because Homer is one of the few Reds who has been around for essentially the entire time Red Reporter has existed. We've charted his progress since he was a teenager in the lowest levels of the minor league system. Last night was the pinnacle of his career in what we might as well call his breakout season, deferred.

The Reds are probably going to have to lean more heavily on their pitching in the post-season, especially if that old saw is true. So let's not go blowing our wad with a bunch of no-hitters and perfect games before the playoffs. Let's just hope the Reds pitching isn't peaking a little too early. We know the bats aren't, so that's good (bad).
