UPDATE: Mark Sheldon confirms that its Joseph and Sulbaran sent packing.
Ken Rosenthal broke the news, but we still don't know who the Reds are sending to Kansas City. It had better be some players much, much worse than the ones they sent to Kansas City in early July.
Broxton makes the Reds very good bullpen that much more best-er. Along with a utility guy, it's the kind of move I'd like to see Walt making, given who's left out there and how the team has been doing - it's measured and (hopefully) cheap. But he also has some concerning peripherals.
Broxton's K-rate has plunged over the last two seasons and he's allowing more baserunners than you'd expect for a 2.27 ERA. But in medium-to-high leverage situations in the NL Central, he should give the 'pen a nice bump. And a good counterpoint to Chapman's wiry frame.
Broxton is a free agent in 2013.
