Farmers Only: The Night Corky Miller Warmed Up in the Bullpen to Pitch, But Ultimately Didn't End Up Pitching.

  • Louisville got rocked by the Paw Sox, losing a snoozer 8-1. Aside from Didi Gregorius having a 2-4 night, and scoring the team's lone run, this was a rather uneventful game for the Bats. The most exciting thing that happened was that Corky Miller actually warmed up in the bullpen in the 9th inning, but didn't end up getting the call from David Bell. What else...? Hey look! Scott Podsednik and Andy LaRoche are still kicking around in the Red Sox system. Remember when everyone thought that Andy was the better prospect of the two LaRoche brothers? Yeah, that didn't really end up panning out. He does use the Karate Kid Theme as his walkup music, which is either hilarious or depressing depending on how you look at it. Up Next: The inimitable TBD takes the hill to face the Buffalo Bisons at 7:05 pm ET.
  • Pensacola, as well as the rest of the Southern League, had the day off yesterday. They host the Huntsville Stars tonight at 8 pm ET.
  • Bakersfield also had the day off. Chad Rogers (5-3, 2.96 ERA) gets the start as the Blaze host the San Jose Giants for Taco Tuesday at 10:30 pm ET.
  • Dayton beat the Kane County Cougars 5-1. Shocking, I know. Comrade Stalin Gerson was victorious, fanning 5 while allowing 6 hits and one run on a solo shot. No Dragon had a multi-hit game, but Juan Perez and Joe Terry provided the offense with wangers of the honked variety. Up Next: The Dragons are idle today.
  • Billings lost to the Grand Junction Rockies 12-4. This was an ugly defensive game for the 'Stangs, as they committed 5 errors on the night. Zach Vincej went 2-3 with a double after taking over at SS for Brandon Dailey, who was hit in the face by a relay throw from the outfield. Ouch. The appropriately named Nick Routt allowed 6 runs (4 earned) in 0.2 IP to turn this one into a laugher. Up Next: Billings continues their series against Grand Junction at 9:05 pm ET. No starters named yet.
  • The AZL Reds were off last night. Hopefully Tanner Rahier is feeling better after taking a liner off his noggin in Sunday's game. Up Next: The Reds face the Rangers at 10 pm ET.
