The Reds are 6-2 since the Break and 3-2 since losing Votto. That's good, if totally inconclusive. Unfortunately, the Pirates. Then again, the Reds have gained 1 1/2 on Pittsburgh in a little over a week. That's certainly not nothing.
Yovani Gallardo is another test of the Reds' Very Right-handed Lineup. He's held righties to a .230/.288/.380 line over his career and .222/.278/.366 this season. Over in the home dugout, Bronson is coming off his first truly Terribl-royo outing of the season, having given up a lot of runs AND going just 3.0 innings. The silver lining, as always, is that these terrible outings almost never happen twice in a row - or even as part of a trend. They're like spotting a rare and annoying species that you're glad is endangered.

- Might be one of those times to ease up on Chapman, as he's appeared in 6 of 8 games (in 8 days) since the Break.
