World Series Game 1: Tigers @ Giants Open Thread

I should be in Cincinnati right now. I told -ManBearPig that I'd come to Cincy if our Reds made it to the World Series, but instead I'm stuck at stupid work with stupid Giants fans all stupid pumped up. At least the one Cardinal fan here was in a bad mood today. That made me smile a little bit. Yadierenfreude, or something like that.

Anyway, it's Verlander vs Zito in a battle of the guys who were always last in line on school picture day (my school did it alphabetically, at least). One wonders if the Giants are preemptively taking a mulligan here, with the assumption that Verlander will go 9 innings and strike out a bajillion guys, but Cain and Vogelsong pitched recently and Mitch Kramer Tim Lincecum has been ineffective.

Predictions? Rooting interest? I'm just glad I don't have to root hard against one of these teams. Thanks, Giants!
