Farmers Only: The legend of Billy Hamilton grows

Billy Hamilton keeps adding notches to his speed belt.  Last night he stole 3 more bases, bringing his total to 48 in 56 games.  But what made last night special was that he stole home for the first time.  Awesome.

Also, a new feature (at least for my FO posts):

The Reds SS OPS Tracker

Paul Janish: .533
Edgar Renteria: .592
Zack Cozart: .867

Cozart has 28 extra base hits.  Reds shortstops have 10--all doubles, save for Janish's triple yesterday.

  • Louisville lost 2-1Brandon Hynick had a nice start, going 7 IP and giving up the 2 runs while striking out 7.  Unfortunately, the hitters couldn't get anything going.  Well, except for Zack Cozart, who was 2-3 with a walk and a double.  Also Juan Francisco, who was 2-3 with a walk, double, and his 4th homer.  Up Next: Chad Reineke gets the always popular 10:35 A.M. start.
  • Carolina lost 5-3Brad Boxberger pitched another scoreless inning, striking out a batter.  Mike Costanzo was 2-4 with a double, homer, and a walk; and Jose Castro was 2-4 with 2 doubles.  Up Next: Someone will start at 7:15.
  • Bakersfield was off. Up Next: Josh Ravin toes the rubber at 10:35 P.M.
  • Dayton won 5-0Billy Hamilton was 3-5 with a double and the aforementioned 3 SB, Yorman Rodriguez was 3-3 with a stolen base of his own (his 17th), and Juan Duran was 2-4 with a double. Josh Smith had another excellent start, throwing 6 shutout innings, allowing just 2 hits and 3 walks while striking out 8.  Up Next: Daniel Corcino will start at 8:00.
