- Louisville won 5-1. In his second start since being demoted, Edinson Volquez threw 6.2 IP and gave up just 1 run. However, he only struck out 2 and walked 4. Only 69 of his 112 pitches were strikes. I have a feeling that outing would've gone a lot differently had he been facing major league hitters. Juan Francisco was 2-4 with a homer, Devin Mesoraco walked twice, and Kris Negron homered. Yonder Alonso hit his 6th homer, a 3 run shot that put the game on ice. Up Next: New Bat Brandon Hynick makes the start at 7:05.
- Carolina lost 4-3. James Avery struck out 6 in 5 IP, even though he allowed 4 runs. He also was 2-2 at the plate. Jake Kahaulelio and Denis Phipps also had 2 hits each. Up Next: Tim Gustafson makes the start at 7:05.
- Bakersfield lost 7-3. Henry Rodriguez hit his 7th homer of the year. Up Next: Tim Crabbe starts at 10:05
- Dayton won 4-2. Josh Smith had another solid start, lasting 6 innings and giving up 2 runs while striking out 4. Dominic D'Anna was 2-4 with 2 doubles, Billy Hamilton was 2-4 with a triple and another SB, and Donald Lutz was 2-4. Yorman Rodriguez tripled and walked. Up Next: Daniel Corcino takes the hill at 7:00.
