Not a lot to say here. Reds looking to avoid the sweep, and break out of their funk. The early game wasn't much fun, but I don't think it was quite as bad as it seemed. The Reds were hitting the ball pretty hard, but the Yankees outfield seemed to get to everything. Jorge Posada's homer was a routine fly ball in most parks. The umpire's strike zone was bloated, which led to at least a few extra strikeouts.
Brian Gordon takes the hill for the Yankees, and as a career minor leaguer, shouldn't pose too much of a problem for the Reds. However, we've seen no-names come in and dominate them before, and with the way the offense has looked recently (.240/.303/.329 in the last 13 games, according to 'creds), I don't think it would shock anyone if he went 7 strong, and gave up 4 hits and no runs. Hopefully that ends up being Johnny Cueto's line, however, and the Reds can knock Gordon back to AAA where he belongs, but look for a more intimidating Yankees lineup, with Teixeira and A-Rod back.
Lineup after the jump.
