- Louisville won a wild one against Lehigh Valley 8-7. They were down 5-3 coming into the 8th, took the lead in the 8th and extended it in the 9th, only for the IronPigs to mount a rally on Nick Christiani. Their 4-run 8th inning was highlighted by Juan Francisco, who hit a 3-run homer to cap off a 3-for-5 evening. Zack Cozart was 3-for-3 with 2 walks, which continues to be better than any shortstop the Reds continue to run out there on a daily basis. Oh yeah, and remember Dave Sappelt? He had two more hits to extend his hitting streak to all 4 games he's been back from his oblique injury. Up next: Chad Reineke takes on Lehigh Valley at 7:05.
- Carolina lost 2-1 to Tennessee. Tim Gustafson had a decent start, giving up 2 runs in 6 innings, but the offense couldn't get anything going to support him. Newest Mudcat Henry Rodriguez (who was curiously playing SS!) went 2-for-4, as did Neftali Soto. Up next: Mudcats are off today.
- Bakersfield got blanked 6-0 to San Jose. Lance Janke got the start and struck out 9 in his 5 innings, but gave up 4 runs. The offense couldn't get anything going, despite 7 of the 9 starters having exactly one hit. Up next: Josh Ravin takes the mound against San Jose at 10.
- Dayton was off yesterday. They'll play a doubleheader to keep an eye on tonight starting at 6:05, with MWL All-Star Josh Smith taking the mound in Game 1 and RR's 12th ranked prospect Kyle Lotzkar making his season debut in Game 2.
