Farmers Only: Now cracks a noble bat. Goodnight, sweet prince; And flights of angels sing thee back to AAA

In case you haven't heard, Todd Frazier is back in Louisville after the tiniest of cups of coffee.  My cousin gets the shakes when she drinks decaf, and I'm pretty sure she'd have been fine after that one.  If nothing else, the callup (which occurred immediately after Walt was in Louisvillle) indicates the organization has taken notice.  Hopefully it's not too long before Todd is back with the team.

  • The Frazier-less Bats won yesterday 8-7Zack Cozart was 3-4 with a homer.  His line on the year now sits at .282/.327/.436. I'm pretty sure he could outperform the .222/.279/.259 line the current Reds shortstops are putting up.  Devin Mesoraco, Jeremy Hermida, Chris Valaika, and Michael Griffin each had 2 hits, and Kris Negron belted his 4th homer.  Up Next: The team is off Wednesday.
  • Carolina lost 8-3Donnie Joseph, Nick Christiani, and Brad Boxberger each threw a shutout inning of relief.  I mentioned this yesterday, but Donnie Joseph is having a weird statistical season. He now has 24 strikeouts and just 7 walks in 19.1 IP.  But his BABIP against is over .500, hence the ugly 10.24 ERA.  I'd expect that to drop quickly as the summer progresses.  Neftali Soto, David Cook, Jose Castro, and James Skelton each had two hits.  Up Next: Matt Klinker starts at 7:15.
  • Bakersfield was off.  Up Next: Pedro Villareal tries to keep his solid season going at 10:30.
  • Dayton won 6-0Daniel Tuttle had a great start, throwing 6 shutout innings and striking out 4.  Tucker Barnhart was the only Dragon with 2 hits.  He also walked twice.  Up Next: Tanner Robles takes the hill at 7:05.
