So this has been fun, huh? The Reds have to be on a bit of a high after the last two games, having shrugged off the "bugaboo" that is the Saint Louis Cardinals so far this series. I bet Chris Carpenter's son has been asking his father why none of the Cardinals second basemen have been showing up to his little league baseball games. Man, what a jerk that Brandon Phillips is.

There were surprisingly little fireworks yesterday afternoon (unless you count Ramon Hernandez's baseball equivalent of that .gif of Snooki getting punched in the face), which, honestly, kind of surprised me. Hopefully things stay civil today, and I think that responsibility rests squarely on the whiny shoulders of Mr. Carpenter, after Johnny Cueto did the damn thing yesterday and BP forwent his standard catcher's tap. Travis Wood has turned in 2 quality starts after his 3.1 inning, 7 run implosion against the Marlins, and looks to continue that QS trend today. A good start here would do a lot for the young lefty's confidence, in this humble writer's opinion. He did it last time he pitched against the Cards, so here's hoping he builds on it.

It was nice to hang out with nycredsfan, the_vole, Charlie Scrabbles, Mrs. Scrabbles, and Mrs. Creds yesterday. I think I speak for all of us NY'ers when I say there's an open invitation here. Except for jch. I hear he's a handful. In other news, I discovered yesterday that the_vole's older sister used to babysit me as a child. Take that as you will.
