I'll be honest, at this point I just want these games to be over with and for no one else to end up on the DL or miss any time. The big news this morning is that Dontrelle Willis and Jeremy Hermida have been reassigned, leaving the Reds roster at 28 players. Per the Fyaman, the last position spot has come down to Fine Freddy Lewis (who's being looked at by doctors today, yay) and Juandisimo Fransissyco while the last bullpen spot will be one of Matt Maloney, Jose Arrendondo, Wolverine Ondrusek and Jared Burton. If four of that group are cut that would mean the roster stands at 24 players, no? Am I missing something?
UPDATE: Willis accepted the assignment, Hermida is looking for a ML gig.
I would give you some sort of breakdown about Scott Carroll but all I know is that he was scheduled to pitch the game against the Mariners last week that was rained out and that he was suspended for 50 games for PEDs in 2008. I looked over his minor league numbers and was lass than impressed considering he was a 3rd round draft choice, compensation for losing Rich Aurilla to the Giants.
Aaron Heilman started off with the Mets, spent a year with the Cuns, then ended up with the DBacks last year. I'm even less inspired to write something about Aaron Heilman, since he doesn't cut the mayonnaise in my book. If you want to know more about a guy with a lifetime record of 31-45, go here and knock yourself out.
Scotty Ballgame and Raymoan are back today and Votto gets a rest. END will man 1B in his place, so at least he won't be throwing the ball over the infield. Lineups after the jump.
