Well, we know the Reds can't clinch tonight. We know that they can't clinch tomorrow without a win tonight either. Whether or not they actually clinch tomorrow, I'd love to have the anticipation of watching them clinch all day. That means, they need to win tonight. In fact, just win the rest of the games so we can party from here on out, mkay?
A win today for Bronson Arroyo and he'll still have an outside shot at becoming the Reds first 18-game winner since Pete Schourek in 1995. If the Reds keep their rotation as is, he'll pitch his final game against the Astros on Thursday. That would be pretty cool for Bronson if he can get to 18, but I'd be much happier if he went 5-0 in the playoffs.
Chris Young is making only his 2nd start after missing 5 months due to injury. He looked pretty good versus the Cardinals last week, but that doesn't mean the Reds can't get to him today. He hasn't faced the Reds in over 4 years, so there isn't a lot of familiarity between him and the Reds. In fact, only 6 Reds have faced him before, and nobody has more than 9 PA against him. Sounds like he's primed to get rocked. (If I keep saying it, it becomes true, right?)
Like I said, still want to clinch tomorrow. Need to win tonight. That's all that matters. Go Reds!
