Finally Sam LeCure gets to face an opposing pitcher that is not an All Star or Cy Young contender. Justin Masterson is a pretty good young pitcher who has had some success of late, but he's no Felix Hernandez, Zack Greinke, Matt Cain, or Chris Carpenter. LeCure has his best shot so far at getting win number two in this game.
It helps that the offense has started to put a few more runs on the board of late too. After scoring a measly one run last weekend, the Reds have scored 23 runs in their last 4 games. If the offense can put another 5-spot on the board today, they have a decent shot at winning this one.
Of course, beating the Indians is nothing new for the Reds, who have won 13 of the last 17 against the Tribe and have pulled ahead in the Ohio Cup series by a count of 34-33. A win tonight means that Ohio bragging rights stay in the Queen City for at least another year.
No TV for tonights game, except for those lucky enough to be able to get to it through MLB.tv. But I'm sure you'll all be happy to know that you get to watch the Yankees take on the Dodgers on Fox. It's what everyone wants anyway, right?
