New, 1 comment
  • Draft stuff: A few other draft picks have signed: RHP Daniel Wolford (14th round), C Chris Berset (20th round), RHP Joshua Smith (21st round), 1B Jonathan Kaskow (41st round), and C William Harford (45th round).  Welcome to the organization, guys!  We're at 19 out of 50 so far.
  • Roster stuff: No new assignments for draft picks, or rookie ball rosters are assigned yet, but we'll keep you posted.  Juan Francisco is off the DL in Louisville, and Danny Dorn is hurt.  Dayton's got some injuries too, with Andrew Means, Sean Conner, Brian Pearl, and Doug Salinas all on the shelf right now.
  • Louisville was off.  They'll take on Durham at 7:05, with Chad Reineke taking the hill.
  • Carolina won in walkoff comeback fashion 4-3 over Mississippi.  Matt Klinker started the game, giving up 2 runs in 7 innings, but Jeremy Horst broke the tie by giving up a run in the 8th.  Fortunately, Mike Costanzo scored on a wild pitch in the 8th, and Sean Henry won the game with a bases loaded walkoff single in the 9th.  Henry went 3-for-4 on the night, as did Eric Eymann, and Costanzo and Jake Kahaulelio (ka how la LEE oh) had two hits each as well.  Up next: Travis Webb gets the next one against Mississippi at 7:15.
  • Lynchburg was rained out.  They'll play a doubleheader today at 6:05, with Edinson Volquez starting game 1 and Mark Serrano in the nightcap.
  • Dayton lost a squeaker with Fort Wayne 5-4Josh Ravin had a short start, only pitching 2 innings of 1 run ball with 4 walks.  J.C. Sulbaran relieved for him, giving up 3 runs in 5 innings with 6 strikeouts, and Blair Carson gave up the winning run in the 8th.  Henry Rodriguez drove in 2 runs, and Chase Weems led the Dragons attack going 2-for-4.  Up next: Justin Walker pitches tonight against Fort Wayne at 7:05.
