In case you haven't noticed, Johnny Cueto has been really good lately. In his last 6 starts, he's pitched 39 innings, struck out 40 batters, walked 8, and allowed 8 runs (1.85 ERA). Opponents are batting .193/.242/.314 against Cueto in those 6 starts. Needless to say, the Reds are 6-0 in those starts. Only time will tell if Cueto is getting it all figured out, but damn he's been fun to watch over the last month-plus.
Joey Votto is back in the lineup tonight. The Reds were 4-2 in Votto's absence and scored 7.2 runs per game. I thought we'd decided we were going to trade that guy.
If you didn't see the transaction for today, the Reds put Mike Lincoln on the DL and optioned Carlos Fisher down to Louisville. Logan Ondrusek and Enerio Del Rosario are being brought up in their places.
Gotta get a win tonight if they want to win the series. I feel confident that they can do it, but it'd sure be nice if it was an easy one too.
