Farmers Only: Donnie Joe continues to make his case

  • Louisville was off.  Aroldis Chapman will start at 7:05 against Gwinnett.
  • Carolina won 6-2 behind a solid start by Travis Webb.  Webb was a little wild, with 6 walks in 5 innings, but he gave up only 1 run and struck out 7.  Jake Kahaulelio led the offense going 3-for-5 with 2 RBI.  Sean Henry and Sean Danielson also drove in two runs each.  Up next: Alexander Smit takes on West Tenn at 7:15.
  • Lynchburg lost to Myrtle Beach 2-1, in a game where Mark Serrano was the tough luck loser.  Serrano pitched 7 good innings, giving up 2 runs, striking out 7, and walking nobody.  Jose Gualdron and Alex Buchholz had two hits each.  Up next: The Hillcats take on Myrtle Beach at 7:05.
  • Dayton beat Lake County 5-3, behind homers by Mariekson Gregorius and Mark Fleury.  Thomas Nurre added 3 hits, and Jacob Johnson gave up only 1 unearned run in 5 innings.  He gave up 1 run and struck out 6.  Donnie Joseph notched his 6th save of the season, and has a 0.78 ERA right now.  Up next: Pedro Villarreal takes on Lake County at 11:00 AM.
