- Carolina beat Chattanooga 6-4, behind a solid start by Alexander Smit. The Dutchman allowed 3 runs in 5 innings, and got lots of run support. Kris Negron, Denis Phipps, and Dave Sappelt all had multi-hit games. Up next: There's no starter listed for the 'Cats game against Chattanooga at 7:15, but it should be Matt Klinker's turn. - Lynchburg beat Winston-Salem 9-2 on another strong start by Matt Fairel. Matt went 7 innings and gave up 2 runs, while striking out 5 and walking just 1. The offense exploded for 15 hits, with Jose Gualdron leading the way with 3 of them. Alex Buchholz drove in 3 runs for the Hillcats, and despite going 1-for-5, Devin Mesoraco drove in 2.
