I'm not too upset about last night's loss. I've always believed the Cardinals were a better team than the Reds, and I felt like the Reds hung in there and didn't make too many mistakes. Even the two home runs were GABP specials that probably wouldn't have been out of most parks. I was impressed that the Reds kept fighting to the end. They just couldn't handle Garcia, but then nobody has handled him yet this year.
Unfortunately, the task doesn't get any easier tonight. Adam Wainwright is a tough pitcher and nobody currently on the Reds has done much damage against him in the limited number of times they've faced him. Hopefully Mike Leake is up to the challenge and can match Wainwright's performance. This will be the first time the Cardinals have faced Leake, so perhaps that will give the pitcher the advantage. My only advice to Leake is don't give Albert Pujols anything to hit. He's good at baseball.
It's Civil Rights night tonight. Did you get my card? If you are going down to the park, enjoy and bring us home a winner. If not, put up your feet and watch Leake take down the division winner with me.
Go Reds! They're my favorite team!
