I noticed something today. Bronson Arroyo was impressive in his first start of the year, but that isn't normal for him. In his four previous first starts of the year with the Reds, he's put up a 5.11 ERA over 24.2 innings, though the Reds have gone 3-1 (Angry Harang is ANGRY!). However, Arroyo has been solid his second time out to the mound each year, giving up 2 runs or less in 3 of the 4 starts and a 2.85 ERA over 25.1 innings. What does this all mean? I don't know. With Bronson Arroyo, you never know if you are going to get Goodroyo or Badroyo, but that's why he's exciting, right?
Nate Robertson hasn't faced the Reds since 2006 when he was with the Tigers. He threw 7.1 shutout innings in a game that featured one starter in tonight's lineup - and he batted 8th that night. That's right, there was a time when Brandon Phillips was the 8th hitter on the Reds. Kinda blows your mind, doesn't it?
Anyway, I'm out of pocket tonight. I'm heading to Columbus to watch the Bats take on the Clippers with my dad. You all play nice together. Go Reds! They're my favorite team!
