The Reds have now won 7 straight games against the Pirates. In fact, the last time the Reds lost to the Pirates was the day before Scott Rolen came off of the disabled list from his concussion, or as it's known in Redsland, The Day the Losing Stopped™. Rolen simply refuses to lose to the Pirates. It's that plain and simple. In his career, he is 74-45 against the Pirates in games that he has started. That's a .622 winning percentage, which is a 100-win season, if you are wondering. Not only are the Reds Scott Rolen's team, but apparently he owns the Pirates as well.
Bronson Arroyo keeps inching closer and closer to that sub-4 ERA. Since he's up over 200 innings, it's going to be harder than it looks, but he's got a chance if he can avoid an implosion in his last 2 starts. If he does that, he might also reach 15 wins for the 2nd straight year. And then we'll never hear the end of it.
Just 10 more games left in the season, and with the way the team has been playing over the last 30 games, I almost feel like we might actually miss them when the season is over. If only they could have won 20 out of every 30 games all year long, maybe we would have enjoyed the season.
