Bronson Arroyo looked pretty bad in his last start against the Royals. Hopefully this is not the start of a Badroyo cycle. With the way this offense is scoring runs, the last thing they need is the starting staff to start giving up runs.
Jose Contreras, on the other hand, has looked outstanding in his last two starts since being recalled from the minors. He pitched 8 innings in both starts without allowing a single run. Whatever he worked on in Triple-A really seems to have paid off.
This game kicks off a big weekend in Cincinnati. Sugar Ray Leonard will be giving a pre-fireworks speech after the game tonight. And tomorrow is going to have all kinds of goodies for the Civil Rights game. Sure would be nice to see the Reds take a couple wins when the whole country watching.
