Farmers Only: Kids, you tried your best and failed miserably. The lesson is, never try.

  • Homer Bailey got knocked around as Louisville got shelled by Scranton/Wilkes-Barre 11-5Homer had some trouble at the outset of the game, giving up 7 runs in the first two innings, but managed to stay in for 6 without giving up any more.  Offensively, Kevin Barker hit his 5th HR of the season, and 5 Bats had multi-hit games in the loss (Barker, Jonny Gomes, Norris Hopper, Drew Stubbs, and Danny Dorn).  Another guy on the Reds radar, Drew Sutton, was 1-for-4 with a double and two RBI.  Up next: Daryl Thompson takes on Scranton at 6:15.
  • Jordan Smith was great as Carolina beat Mobile 5-1Smith went 5 innings of shutout ball, and Alexander Smit and Derrik Lutz combined for 3 innings of hitless relief.  Chris Heisey got on base again, going 2-for-4 with a double, and Todd Frazier went 2-for-4 with his first HR of the year.  Eric Eymann had the best day for the offense, going 3-for-4 and 3 RBI.  Up next: James Avery takes on Mobile at 6:15.
  • Sarasota lost to Jupiter 4-0, on a day where the offense just couldn't get anything going.  Neftali Soto had two hits for the S-Reds, and Jeremy Horst was mediocre, giving up 4 runs in 5.  Up next: Jerry Gil takes on Jupiter at 6:05.
  • Dayton lost 7-3 to Kane County, on a pretty dismal performance to drop to 7-21 on the season.  The offense managed 5 singles total, and Josh Ravin gave up 5 runs in 5 2/3 innings to put the Dragons down.  Up next: Oscar Castro is the scheduled starter against Kane County at 7.
