It's a matchup of the 2008 AL Cy Young Award winner vs. the 2009-2013 NL Cy Young Award winner. Who will come out on top?
After getting hit hard on his Opening Day outing, Cliff Lee has pitched very well this season, posting a 2.05 ERA after his first start. He's maintained his outstanding control from 2008 and has only allowed 3 HR in 62 innings pitched this year. This will be the 7th time he has faced the Reds in his career, with the Reds getting to him for over 7 runs per 9 innings in the previous 6 games. Despite that, Lee actually has a 3-2 record against the Reds in his career.
Johnny Cueto faced the Indians twice last season, allowing 3 HR in Cincinnati on May 16th, the only 3 runs he surrendered, and shutting them out over 6.1 innings in Cleveland on June 28th. The Reds won both games with Cueto getting the decision in Cleveland.
There is a threat of rain today, but it is just a threat of scattered showers, so we hopefully won't see any delays with the game. Hopefully the Reds can close out the series with a victory and a series win. Go Reds!
