Spring Game 33 Thread: Pirates at Reds

MLB Florida and Arizona Spring Training - SB Nation

And so, the end of the Reds run at Ed Smith Stadium is here.  They are a combined 99-84-2 as the home team at Ed Smith, so a win today will put them at the century mark in wins with a winning pct of .543.  During their 12-year run in Sarasota, the Reds have managed an 846-937 record during the regular season for a .474 winning percentage.  So, Ed Smith has been kind to the Reds, to say the least.

Edinson Volquez makes his last start of the Spring.  He has yet to pitch more than 5 innings in a game, so hopefully we'll see at least 6 today.  On the plus side, he's only given one run in Grapefruit action, which came in his last start this past Saturday.  His Grapefruit League ERA is a svelt 0.47.  If there is one concern about Volquez, it's that he's surrendered 8 walks in his last 13 innings pitched.  Obviously that ratio can't hold up if he's going to be successful during the season.

No word on who is pitching for the Pirates as of noon today.

See the lineups after the jump.
