Farmers only: Maloney and Thompson return

Matt Maloney
Maloney

Triple-A: Matt Maloney returned to the Bats, striking out 7 in 5 innings and allowing a run in a 7-1 win, putting Louisville up 10 games in the International League West. Adam Rosales was 3 for 5 with 2 doubles and a homer and is 14 for 23 in his past 5 games with 8 extra-base hits. Ryan Hanigan, Shaun Cumberland and Drew T. Anderson added 2 hits apiece.

Double-A: Sam Lecure struck out 9 in 7.1 innings, allowing just 2 hits in Chattanooga's 4-0 win. Danny Dorn was 3 for 4 with a double, Sean Henry had a single and a triple and Drew Stubbs added a double and an RBI. Ramon's Geronimo's scoreless streak continues, and his season numbers are pretty sick: 53.2 IP, 67K, 16BB, 4ER, 0.67 ERA. 24 isn't young, but not too old to consider those numbers distorted.

High A: Neftali Soto and Brandon Waring were 1 for 5 as Dayton lost 14-3.

Rookies: Cody Puckett was 3 for 4 with 2 homers in Billings' 9-1 win. Jamie Arneson (5-1) struck out 9 in 7 innings. ... Daryl Thompson went 4 innings, striking out 3 and allowing 1 unearned run in the G-Reds' 7-2 win in a completed game. The Reds also won 2-1 in 7 innings. ... Juan Duran was 0 for 3 in the D-Reds' 3-2 win.
